Places You Can Visit If You're A Bionicers

Being a birdwatcher happy with birdwatching activities will demand that we find interesting types of birds that have not yet been discovered. Some bird species can be found around us, but there are some bird species that can only be found in certain locations. Maybe only in mountains, forests, swamps, beaches, rivers, and other habitats.

Here are some locations that Bionicers has tracked in 2015:

1. Pagak, Purworejo

Rivers wide enough water that tends to calm with the expanse of water plants and mangroves will be a stunning view at this location. Plants typical of water hyacinth that grows quite high are on the sides of the river and some form the island of water hyacinth itself. Some water birds such as Mandar batu and Tikusan merah  are easy to find in this place.

2. Rawa Jombor

Almost the same as Pagak, but this location presents a vast expanse of water hyacinth. Water puddles form like small lakes often used by aquatic birds like lotus birds foraging.

3. Jogja Adventure Zone or Blok O Yogyakarta

This place can be said miniature Rawa Jombor with a little editing. There is a closed surface of water hyacinth there is also a clean of water hyacinth but there are some lotus plants in the middle. The tall plants surround the stagnant waters forming a kind of fortress that protects the birds like Kareo padi, Manyar tempua, and Kingfisher who lives in it.

4. Mount Merapi National Park

Forests with various types of vegetation will be presented along the path of observation. Beautiful birds such as Walik head-purple, Ciung-batu kecil-sunda, Javan Hawk Eagle, and various species of birds will be found. Goa Japan, Tlogo Putri, and Puncak Plawangan can be a destination.

5. Sermo Wildlife Sanctuary, Kulon Progo

The eucalyptus and teak forests will be seen to dominate the forests of this region. The bridal gown, Kadalan Birah, and Elang ular-bido are the goal to observe the birds in this place. In addition, there is the Sermo Reservoir which becomes its main attraction with its abundant water reservoir.

6. Jatimulyo Tourism Village, Kiskendo, Kulon Progo

The location to go with the streets is quite adrenalin memcu but many give tired and fatigue remedy. This location has several waterfalls at some point. The path of observation through forest dominated leafy plants such as lamtoro plants. Unique birds that could be a surprise that the fire prawns live in this place. Not to forget Black Eagle and Walik kembang also be excellent here.

7. Bunder Forest Park, Gunung Kidul

A high plot of secondary forest dominated by teak will be a typical Tahura Bunder dish. A river flowing with clear water can be a relaxing place after bird watching. Rajaudang biru, Ayam hutan hijau, and Kirik-kirik senja will accompany the trip to birdwatching. Sikep-madu asia can be a target list that must be found.

8. Mangrove Forest Baros, Bantul

Not yet known who knows this location. Though this location has a good habitat for birds such as sacred Cekakak sungai, Cangak abu, and also Bubut jawa live. A range of mangroves with roots of tunjang and flame plants with their respiratory roots will be found here. In addition, typical mangrove animals such as mangrove crabs, large sideburns sideways and glodok fish that can run on the mainland is very easy to observe.

9. UGM Valley

Not many know and want to visit this location. Only fish seekers with their fishing hooks are often seen. Though this location is good enough to protect some species of birds with water storage and a small forest that is quite lush with large trees. A Kakatua raja was released in this location. Kipasan belang and Raja udang meninting often seen here. In addition, on a small island in the middle of the waters is a hiding place Kareo padi and Kowak-malam kelabu.

10. Ngongap Beach, Gunungkidul

A hidden place that offers a great view of the ocean from the cliff top. Buntut sate putih and Dara laut tengkuk hitam danced over the ocean. The cliffs towering over the seawater that made the appearance of some sea flutes like spurt of water from a whale will be seen at some point.

11. Progo River Delta

Progo River empties into the sea but before the water flow joins the seawater, the stream makes an estuary ecosystem that has brackish water. This place is a favorite place of seabird beach birds like Cerek jawa and Cangak abu foraging. Immigrant birds such as rock-turning Trinil, Kedidi golgol, and other beach birds often stop at this location.

There are still some more places like Trisik Beach in Kulon Progo, Bukit Jarum in Sleman, and some interesting spots in the middle of Yogyakarta city. Not to mention if told about the passage of two research proposals that took place on the island of Bawean-East Java and Cibodas-West Java.
